Nice when the stars align themselves for us...

Nick Kloepping replied:

Christopher, I believe very much in the stars aligning. The day after this photo, I stopped with my wife to take several photos. Before I could get out of the suv, the road shoulder gave way and we rolled five times to the stream bed below. We walked away. Being in our seventies, the stars were very much aligned, allowing us to capture more of this beautiful world.

Thank you Jan for your kind comment. It was a total surprise to me when I looked through the viewfinder.

Artist's Description

This was an unexpected photo. I saw the doe along the river bank and decided to turn around and try and get a picture or two with my point and shot camera. I walked down the roadway to an opening, where I could see the doe about 50 to 75 yards across the stream. . I took several shots and then looked down to reset the camera to try an in camera, light paint effect. When I looked through the view finder, this is what I saw. I took a quick photo before the doe and fawn quickly moved into the brush. The fawn must have been in the grass in my first photos, and then walked out while I set my camera.
