Description
The Ponderosa Pine has large pine cones. This particular tree has many cones in a unusual configuration, compared to most Ponderosa pines. This will be seen in a later photo. The cones are the seed carriers and the pollen producers are the brown filaments located to the upper left of the photo. The pollen is carried by wind.
